This weeks inspiration came from the past weekend when celebrating National Art Museum Day. My art museum of choice was The Andy Warhol Museum located in Pittsburgh, PA. The inspirational images are of Warhol himself, Lou Reed, Twiggy, album art, records and tweed.

I’ve chosen retro pinks and yellows to fit the warmer weather in this almost summer season. Yet, keeping the black and leather to receive Andy’s approval.

3 Things To Love When Tennis Season Is Over

Spring time is also tennis season. I’m not sure how popular tennis is or if you even like tennis but I have three things that you can love about tennis without ever playing or watching it.

1. The band “Tennis”
I’m pretty sure as long as the sun is outside this band is perfect. In the car, in your house, by the pool, you name it.

2. Tennis bracelets
I’m not sure how much in fashion these are anymore. But, THEY SHOULD BE. There is nothing quite like a dainty gold chain around your wrist that can say a lot about things you like, your style, and personality.

3. Cool tennis shoes
Spring is fun, and we’re just getting excited about going outside more. Be that to the woods or mall, running on the trails or sidewalk, a cool pair of tennies is something you just can’t live without at any phase in your life.

4 Movies With My Favorite Retro Soundtracks

Pirate Radio is a movie about an illegal radio station in the North Sea, back when great music such as The Kinks, The Turtles, The Beach Boys, and The Who weren’t quite accepted. Ranking it into my top 4, not to mention something of a comedy to enjoy easy rock ‘n’ roll.

Nowhere Boy is about non-other than John Lennon and his Beatle buddies. Though the film focuses mainly on Lennon and his relationship with his ever so inspiring mother. It also focuses on some great tunes from Lennon himself and Elvis Presley.

The Graduate is a movie about a boy figuring things out after college. Can’t be that tough right? Not as tough as hearing Scarborough Fair 300 times, but Mrs. Robinson surely tries. But despite the endless Scarborough Fair, you can’t say you don’t enjoy Simon and Garfunkel which is why this gets placed into my top 4.

Help! is one of many Beatles’ movies. This one follows a predicament Ringo finds himself in when he comes across a giant ruby ring and realizes he’s about to get sacrificed. Of course, I’ve already mentioned Nowhere Boy, but this has a full Beatles album worth and more variety than good ol’ Lennon. And you can’t have a retro soundtrack list without a Beatles movie.

HBO’s GIRLS

Here’s your chance to trust my television show tastes blogging world: Go. Watch. GIRLS. GIRLS is entertaining to just about anyone. Don’t let the name fool you. The show is following the lives of four girls in New York and their lives are anything but perfect, unless perfect means they have me addicted to watching the hilarious chaos unfold. This show is touching on topics that are relatable. Sort of. If nothing else I’m recommending it for the laughs; whether you’re laughing because your life is nothing like this or your life is eerily headed in their direction. So cheers to the unpredictable life after college and this show.

Adam Green and Binki Shapiro

Adam Green and Binki Shapiro released an album just this month that is something worth blogging about. These guys set new standards for duets. Of course the album gives me a feel of a Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood duet album, but I think this is what the world needs right now. And that is being shown what a real duet sounds like. Here’s a track off the new album titled ‘Pity Love’.
